Question Tag in Hindi
वैसे Sentences जिनका एक भाग Assertive अथवा Imperative तथा दूसरा Interrogative होता है, तो दूसरे भाग को Question Tag कहते हैं।
इस प्रकार के वाक्यों से वक्ता (Speaker) अपना विचार व्यक्त करते हैं तथा साथ-ही-साथ अपनी जिज्ञासा (Curiosity) या शक अथवा संदेह (doubt) के कारण इसकी पुष्टि श्रोता (listener) से चाहते हैं,
देखिए-
You are Saurav's brother, aren't you?
(तुम सौरभ के भाई हो न ?)
Payal went home, didn't she?
(पायल घर पर थी न ?)
Sainky did not go home, did he?
(शैन्की घर नहीं गया था न ? )
Rashmi is beautiful, isn't she?
(रश्मि सुन्दर है न ? )
You will help us, won't you?
आप हमलोगों की मदद करेंगे न ?)
Difference between Question & Question tags
Questions पूर्ण वाक्य होते हैं तथा इनका प्रयोग स्वतंत्र रूप से किया जाता है; जबकि Question Tags का प्रयोग स्वतंत्र रूप से नहीं किया जाता है। ये किसी वाक्य के अंत में प्रयोग किये जाते हैं।

Anomalous finite + Subject?
Anomalous finite + n't + Subject?
Remember the contracted forms (संक्षिप्त रूप) of Anomalous Finites-
Verb to 'be'
- is + not ⇒ isn't
- are + not ⇒ aren't
- Am I not ⇒ Arn't I
- was + not ⇒ wasn't
- were + not ⇒ weren't
Verb to 'do'
- do + not ⇒ don't
- does + not ⇒ doesn't
- did + not ⇒ didn't
Verb to 'have'
- have + not ⇒ haven't
- has + not ⇒ hasn't
- had + not ⇒ hadn't
Modal verb
- will + not ⇒ won't
- shall + not ⇒ shan't
- can + not ⇒ can't
- would + not ⇒ wouldn't
- should + not ⇒ shouldn't
- could + not ⇒ couldn't
- may + not ⇒ mayn't
- might + not ⇒ mightn't
- ought + not ⇒ oughtn't
- must + not ⇒ mustn't

नोट:
Question tag का Subject, Pronoun या 'Introductory 'there' होता है, Question Tag में Noun का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है।
2. जब Sentence (वाक्य) Positive रहता है, तो Negative Question Tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है तथा जब वाक्य Negative रहता है, तो Positive Question Tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

- Alok and his friends went to college, didn't they?
- You take tea, don't you?
- Radha is beautiful, isn't she?
- I am right, aren't I?
- Navaneet will help me, won't he?
- You have not done so, have you?
3. जब वाक्य में Hardly, scarcely, rarely, seldom, neither, no, not, never, little, few, no one, no body, nothing etc. का प्रयोग हुआ हो, तो clause को Negative मानकर question tag बनाया जाता है।
देखिए-
- I had no enemy, had I?
- Only few students will get the prize, will they?
- Nothing is perfect now, is it?
- A barking dog seldom bites, does it?
- I know little about Sushma, do I?
परन्तु,
'a little/a few' positive sense में प्रयोग किए जाते हैं, अतः इनका Question Tag Negative होगा।

- The old man has a little milk, hasn't he?
- Only a few girls have come, haven't they?
- A few people will come, won't they?
⇒ Positive Command/Request के साथ positive अथवा Negative question tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Open the window, will you?
या,
open the window, wont' you?
⇒ Negative command/ request के साथ positive question tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
- Don't open the window, will you?
⇒ Normal command/request के साथ positive अथवा Negative question tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

याद रखें-
⇒ Urgency बतलाने के अर्थ में positive command/request के साथ 'won't you?' Question Tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

- Remember to shut the window, won't you?
- Be careful while walking on grass, won't you?
⇒ Let's (let us) के साथ हमेशा "shall we?" Question Tag प्रयोग किया जाता है।

- Let's read, shall we?
- Let's dance together, shall we?
But,
Let them/Sohan/him/her/Rashmi etc. के साथ "will you?" Question Tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

- Let Navaneet write, will you?
- Let her read, will you?
- Let them do this work, will you?
⇒ Imperative Sentence से जब डाँट फटकार का अर्थ प्रकट हो, तो "can't you?" Question Tag का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

- Use your new bike, can't you?
- Shut up, can't you?
Some More Important Hints
⇒ यदि दिये गये वाक्य में Subjects/Pronoun (one, this, that, these, those, there) हो, तो Question Tags के Subjects निम्न प्रकार होंगे-
- One ➝ one
- This, that ➝ it
- These, Those ➝ They
- There ➝ There
देखिए-
- One can't help him, can one?
- This/that is hers, isn't it?
- These/those are Payal's toys, aren't they?
- There is cool in this room, isn't there?
परन्तु जब उपरोक्त Pronouns का प्रयोग Adjectives के रूप में किया गया हो, तो Question Tags का Subject इनके बाद आने वाले Noun अनुसार किया जाता है।

- One girl can do it, can't she?
- This book is useful, isn't it?
- Those pens are not mine, are they?
- That boy can do the sum, can't he?
⇒ यदि दिये गये वाक्य का Subject anyone, no one, everyone someone, nobody, everybody, somebody, हो, तो Question Tags के Subjects They का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
देखिए-
- Everyone came on time, didn't they?
- Somebody has stolen my pen, haven't they?
- No one is able to do the work, are they?
- Everybody is my friend, aren't they?
परन्तु,
Nothing, anything, everything, something के लिए it का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
देखिए-
- Everything has been decorated, hasn't it?
- Anything can be done for them, can't it?
- Nothing is harmful here, is it?
⇒ Used to के लिए usedn't या didn't का प्रयोग किया जाता है, जबकि usedn't to के लिए used अथवा did का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
